NANDI NATAKAM “URUBHANGAM” – PRESENTED ON DIFFERENT STAGES IN ANDHRA PRADESH

A Theatre education is vital for a well-rounded youth development. Acting roles from different situations, time periods and cultures promote compassion and tolerance for others. Drama enhances verbal and non - verbal expression of ideas. It improves voice projection, articulation, fluence of language and persuasive speech. Improvisation fosters quick thinking solutions which leads to greater adoptability in life. Theatre brings humor and laughter to learning. This improves motivation and reduces stress. 21st century values the hard science above all else and emphasizes STEM courses. This approach to education and curriculum is missing one of the key purposes of education. “To be human is to be more than an economic producer”-John Montegomery, Head of Curriculum, The Scot College, Sydney, Australia. Students grow in understanding of what it means to not only be human but to be good, noble, honorable, kind and compassionate.
